Keno

Keno is a super easy game to learn how to play. It is a game that is very similar to bingo or lottery and can be played in many casinos. Like most casino games, this one made its way to us from its ancient roots in China through the immigration of the 1800s. Now you can play in a keno lounge in the casinos or a video version.

Your keno card has 80 numbers in 8 rows of 10. To make your bet in a live game of keno you will take your card to the keno “writer” so they can mark the numbers you choose. You can choose up to 20 numbers out of the 80. Numbers are drawn and revealed to the keno players for winners to claim their prize.

There are several types of bets that can be commonly made on a keno ticket including the straight ticket, combination, and king ticket. The straight ticket has got to be the simplest method since you only need to mark six numbers. To denote these six numbers, you can circle two groups of three and mark the ticket with a 2/3, 1/6.

Once you are more comfortable with the keno game you may prefer to try a combination ticket. These tickets can vary and just mean that you are choosing a 2, 3 or 4-number group to hit. You can bet on the individual groupings or the whole lot of numbers that you have circled to hit. You may choose to bet the combos as ½, 1/3, ¼, for each circled group of numbers and then also 1/5, 1/6, 1/7, 1/9 for the groups together.

A king ticket is your lucky number circled all by itself. You can add this number into a combination ticket so you circle two groups of four and a king you would have 2/4, 1/7.

Also look for the progressive jackpots like you see in the slots. There are times when the jackpot is getting very ripe and your odds are at an advantage over the house. This is rare, but possible and very important to keep your eyes peeled for. As in slots, to be eligible for the progressive jackpots, you are not automatically eligible, but you must place bigger bets. Note the requirements and measure it against the potential jackpot to see if it is worth it for you.

Keno is completely a random number game and devising a strategy is not really possible. Play with good money management skills, as in all casino games and constantly measure the winnings against how much you must spend to have an opportunity to win. Choosing numbers is pure luck and every single time the numbers are drawn is another independent event.

If you are looking for a game to play that is easy, cheap and relaxing, then keno is great. No skill and no fuss have kept this game a popular favorite for hundreds of years.
